Truck Accidents in New York

- Driver Fatigue: Truck drivers often work long hours, and fatigue can reduce reaction time and decision-making abilities. Tired drivers may drift from their lane or miss stopping cues, leading to serious crashes.
- Wide Turns: Trucks make much wider turns than passenger vehicles. Drivers who don’t anticipate this may get caught in the truck’s blind spot or turning path, resulting in side-impact collisions.
- Blind Spots: Trucks have large blind spots on all four sides. If a car stays in these areas too long, the truck driver may not see them when changing lanes or merging.
- Cargo Shifts: Improperly secured cargo can shift during transit, causing a driver to lose control or creating hazards if debris spills onto the roadway.
- Mechanical Failures: Worn brakes, tire blowouts, or other equipment failures can cause a truck driver to lose control. Routine maintenance is essential to keep large vehicles safe on the road.
