Burlington Co., NJ – 2 Killed, 1 Hurt in Crash at US-206 & Quaker Bridge Rd

Burlington County, NJ (September 2, 2025) – A deadly two-vehicle crash in Burlington County left two people dead and another person injured on Monday, September 1.

According to the New Jersey State Police, the collision happened around the intersection of U.S. Highway 206 and Quaker Bridge Road.

Investigators said 21-year-old Derek Gantham of Tabernacle was driving a Ford F-350 pickup truck south on U.S. 206. At the same time, 66-year-old John Hawley of Marlton was driving a Toyota west on Quaker Bridge Road with passenger Theresa Hawley, also 66. The two vehicles collided in the intersection. The impact caused the Toyota to overturn into Atsion Lake. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, where they found multiple vehicles damaged and the Toyota submerged.

Both John Hawley and Theresa Hawley suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Paramedics transported Gantham to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Authorities shut down all southbound lanes of U.S. 206 north of Atsion Lake for several hours as troopers investigated.

The New Jersey State Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Hawley family during this heartbreaking time. We also hope for a full recovery for the injured driver.
