Two Children Seriously Hurt in Crash on Rte 33 in Buffalo, NY

Buffalo, NY (August 7, 2026) – Two children remained in serious condition on Thursday, August 6, after a Chevrolet Equinox carrying six people rolled over and struck a tree near the foot of Route 33 and Oak Street.

The Buffalo Police said two adults and four children were inside the Equinox when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn before hitting a tree.

The two adults were taken to ECMC, while the four children were taken to Golisano Children's Hospital of Buffalo. Two of the children remained in serious condition in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Police said investigators are examining whether speed or racing with another vehicle may have contributed to the accident. The investigation remains ongoing.
