Newark, NJ (August 11, 2026) – On Sunday evening, August 9, a vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian on Bloomfield Avenue. The wreck happened shortly before 9 p.m., according to the New Jersey Attorney General's Office.

The woman's identity has not been released. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office and the Attorney General's Office of Public Integrity and Accountability are jointly investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
