Albany, NY – Two Killed in Truck Crash on I-87

Albany, NY (May 27, 2024) – Police in New York are investigating a deadly truck accident that closed the New York Thruway for approximately 8 hours on Thursday, May 23. Photos from the scene showed a tractor-trailer rolled over on its side on the interstate.

Preliminary reports show a tractor-trailer headed north collided with the concrete barrier that was separating northbound and southbound traffic on the Interstate 87 Highway. The crash caused the truck to turn over onto a northbound passenger vehicle. A passenger who was in the tractor-trailer at the time, identified as Sabrina D. Bermudez, 50, of Ludlow, MA, and the driver of the other vehicle, Paul Keiley, 64, of Rockville Centre, lost their lives due to the extent of their injuries.
