Basking Ridge, NJ (November 6, 2024) – A serious injury car crash occurred on November 6 in Basking Ridge, resulting in the closure of Valley Road between Stonehouse Road and Knollcroft Road for several hours. The crash, which was reported by the Bernards Township Police, took place at approximately 12:15 p.m. and a sedan and an SUV.
According to authorities, the collision occurred when the sedan, traveling eastbound on Valley Rd, lost control and veered into the path of the oncoming SUV. The impact of the crash caused significant damage to both vehicles, and emergency crews were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters worked diligently to extricate the driver of the sedan, who was trapped inside the vehicle. The injured driver was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where they were treated for serious injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the SUV also sustained injuries, though they were reported to be non-life-threatening, and was also taken to the hospital for medical evaluation.
Valley Road was closed in both directions between Stonehouse Road and Knollcroft Road for several hours while authorities worked to clear the wreckage and gather evidence. The road was reopened to traffic later in the afternoon once the scene was cleared.
The crash remains under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the cause of the collision.
