Binghamton, NY (August 22, 2025) – Four people, including two adults and two children, were rushed to the hospital after a serious crash Thursday afternoon, August 21, on Route 363. The collision occurred in the southbound lanes of the Brandywine Highway near the bridge over Robinson Street around 2:20 p.m.
Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene and requested four ambulances to handle the victims. Initial reports indicated that all four occupants in one car were unconscious when crews found them. Medics from the Binghamton Fire Department, Superior Ambulance, and Chenango Ambulance Services worked together to provide lifesaving treatment.
The victims were transported to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City for further care. Their conditions remain unknown at this time. Police diverted southbound traffic onto Frederick Street, causing congestion as vehicles slowly moved down Liberty Street toward Robinson Street.
A small crowd gathered near Prince Deli to watch emergency crews work on the bridge, underscoring the seriousness of the incident. Authorities have not released information about what caused the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Our thoughts are with the victims, and we hope for their full recovery.
Car Accidents in New York
Car accidents in New York are not uncommon, especially on major routes like Route 363, where traffic moves quickly through busy areas. Bridges and highway interchanges create additional risks because of merging traffic, reduced visibility, and limited escape routes when sudden stops occur.
Crashes like the one on Brandywine Highway can result in devastating injuries. Victims often require emergency treatment, hospitalization, and long-term rehabilitation. Families may also face emotional distress as they cope with the uncertainty of recovery or, in the worst cases, permanent injuries.
Several factors often contribute to collisions in the region. Distracted driving remains one of the top causes, as drivers focus on their phones instead of the road. Speeding is another significant issue, reducing reaction times and increasing impact severity. Impaired driving, whether from alcohol or drugs, also continues to play a role in many serious crashes across New York.
Victims of serious crashes may be entitled to compensation to help cover the physical, emotional, and financial burdens they face.
Compensation can include medical costs, lost wages, property damage, and damages for pain and suffering. For families dealing with severe injuries, pursuing legal action can be a vital step toward stability and recovery.
An experienced car accident attorney can guide victims through this process by investigating the crash, reviewing police reports, interviewing witnesses, and negotiating with insurance companies. Skilled legal representation ensures that victims are not pressured into unfair settlements and that their rights remain protected.
