Car Accidents in New JerseyThree-Vehicle Crash Leaves Several Injured on I-280 Wb

Interstate 280 serves as a major traffic corridor through New Jersey. With heavy daily traffic and frequent merging, crashes along this route can happen quickly and often involve multiple vehicles. Even collisions that appear minor can lead to injuries and long-term complications.

Many car accidents on busy highways stem from a combination of driver behavior and road conditions. Common causes of multi-vehicle crashes on highways like Interstate 280 may include:

  • Speeding, which reduces reaction time and increases crash severity
  • Following too closely, leaving little room to stop when traffic slows
  • Distracted driving caused by cell phone use or in-car distractions
  • Sudden lane changes without proper signaling or awareness
  • Fatigue, especially during long or late-day drives
  • Poor weather or reduced visibility that affects vehicle control

When several vehicles collide, occupants face a higher risk of injury due to multiple points of impact. Whiplash, head injuries, back injuries, and soft tissue damage often result, even at moderate speeds. Some victims may not feel symptoms until hours or days later.

Beyond physical harm, crashes can create financial and emotional stress. Medical expenses, vehicle repairs, and time away from work can quickly add up. Victims may also struggle with anxiety or fear related to driving after a serious incident.

After a serious collision, many victims seek guidance from a car accident lawyer to better understand their legal rights. An attorney can help review crash reports, gather evidence, and communicate with insurance companies on the victim’s behalf.
