Bronx, NY (December 16, 2025) – Multiple people suffered injuries after a city bus lost control and struck several vehicles Monday afternoon in the Bronx, according to police.
The crash occurred around 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, along East 163rd Street near Cauldwell Avenue. Authorities reported that an MTA Bx6 bus was traveling through the area when the driver suddenly applied the emergency brakes and lost control of the vehicle.
After losing control, the bus continued forward for several blocks, striking multiple vehicles along the roadway. The New York Police Department said the bus hit both occupied and unoccupied cars before finally coming to a stop approximately four blocks from where the incident began.
Eight people, including the 63-year-old bus driver, sustained injuries in the crash. Emergency medical responders transported several injured individuals to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. Authorities later confirmed that all injured parties were expected to recover.
