Brooklyn, NY (December 22, 2025) – Five people suffered injuries after a large residential fire broke out on Monday, December 22, in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. The fire started just before 2:00 a.m. at a building located on Humboldt Street between Richardson Street and Herbert Street, according to the Fire Department of New York.
Firefighters arrived at the scene within minutes and immediately observed heavy flames burning across multiple floors. Crews saw fire pushing through the roof as thick smoke filled the surrounding area. The fast-moving fire required an aggressive response from emergency personnel.

Nearly 180 firefighters and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene. Two buildings suffered extensive damage and now face further evaluation by the Department of Buildings. Crews evacuated nearby buildings as a precaution to protect residents from smoke and structural concerns.
