House Fires in New York
If you were injured in a fire, it is possible that the negligence of another person caused your injuries. A large percentage of house and apartment fires are due to the landlord or property owner’s failure to maintain their property or negligent approach regarding the safety of their residents.
Burn injuries that result from explosions are not uncommon in industrial or motor vehicle accidents. In these and many other types of accidents, you may be eligible to hold an entity, individual, or both accountable for your injuries.
Incidents that frequently cause burn injuries include:
- Gas explosions
- Defective electrical equipment
- Car accidents
- Flammable textiles
- Battery acid
- Faulty home appliances
- Defective carbon monoxide and smoke detectors
- Improper handling of scalding liquids
- Bleach and ammonia products
Many situations may result in victims sustaining life-altering injuries stemming from the blatant negligence of contractors, landlords, building managers, property owners, and product manufacturers. When someone sustains serious injuries in a residential fire incident that may have been caused by the negligence of an individual, entity, or otherwise, they are usually eligible to bring a personal injury claim against the person liable.
