– A fatal head-on car crash occurred on Route 47 in Cape May County on Tuesday afternoon resulting in the death of one individual and injuries to another. The incident, reported by local authorities, took place just before 12:30 p.m. south of Tyler Rd.


According to a post by the Dennis Volunteer Fire Company, two cars were involved in the collision, leaving at least one person trapped. Emergency responders, including Squad 18, Engine 18, Brush 18, and Utility 18, with a total of 15 firefighters, quickly arrived at the scene. They worked diligently to extricate one patient, who was then transported by Inspira EMS to Woodbine Municipal Airport for airlift to a nearby hospital.

Tragically, a second victim was pronounced dead at the scene. In response to the accident, Route 47 was closed between Tyler Rd and Petersburg Rd for approximately three hours while crews worked to clear the wreckage and manage the situation. The identities of the victims have not yet been released, as the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have stated that no citations or charges have been filed at this time.
