Brooklyn, NY (May 26, 2023) – A car crash was reported to police in Brooklyn on the morning of May 26. Shortly before 4:00 a.m., emergency responders were sent to the scene of a crash on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.
What caused the accident is being investigated by area authorities at this time. The incident occurred on Interstate 278 near Atlantic Avenue when vehicles collided for reasons still under police investigation.
Two left lanes were blocked on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway while crews worked in the area. Traffic was stopped back to Hamilton Avenue/the Battery Tunnel, forcing local drivers to use alternate routes.
