When a workplace electrocution occurs in Sparta, NJ, multiple parties may share responsibility, this include equipment owners, site managers, or contractors overseeing the work area. In New Jersey, workers hurt on the job may have options beyond workers’ compensation depending on the circumstances of the collision.

Electrocution injuries involving heavy equipment and overhead power lines are among the most serious risks workers face on job sites. In Sparta and throughout Sussex County, industrial and commercial operations run along corridors that include NJ-15, which connects Sparta to Jefferson Township and points south toward Wharton.

When forklifts or other equipment come into contact with live lines, the results can be severe and life-altering. People who survive electrocution on the job can face burns, nerve damage, cardiac complications, and lasting neurological effects. Some of these injuries may not be fully apparent in the hours immediately following the accident.

Symptoms can develop or worsen over the days that follow. Workers in these situations often face extended time away from the job and significant medical expenses.
