What Should You Do After a Car Hits a Business in Trenton, NJ?
If you were inside a store or business in Trenton when a vehicle crashed into it, you may have legal options available to you. New Jersey law allows people hurt in these situations to seek compensation from the at-fault driver’s insurance, and in some cases from additional parties depending on the circumstances.
Seeking medical attention right away is one of the most important steps to take after a crash, no matter the severity of the injuries. Medical attention creates records that directly link the injuries to the accident, which can serve as strong evidence if it has to be used in a legal claim later.
Storefront crashes are a documented risk along busy commercial corridors throughout Mercer County. In Trenton, streets like South Broad Street, Pennington Avenue, and the stretch of NJ-29 running along the Delaware River see consistent vehicle and foot traffic.
Businesses along these busy roads can be vulnerable when drivers lose control or fail to navigate turns safely. People caught inside during these collisions can face broken bones, deep bruising, back injuries, and chest trauma. Some of these injuries may worsen over time without proper treatment.
A personal injury attorney can help determine who may be liable for your injuries, whether that is the driver, a vehicle owner, or another party. Legal guidance can also help clarify what evidence to preserve and what steps to take with insurance companies in the days after the accident.
