Gloucester, NJ – Elaine J. Hubler Killed in Pedestrian Strike on Black Horse Pk
Gloucester, NJ (November 09, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed by a hit-and-run driver on Monday, November 7th in Camden County.
The victim has since been identified as 58-year-old Elaine J. Hubler, a resident of Hilltop. was struck Monday, Nov. 7 at 10:28 p.m. Gloucester Township police said.
At about 10:25 p.m., Gloucester Township police responded to the 800th block of Black Horse Pike, between Route 42 and Almonesson Road in Gloucester Township for reports of a pedestrian lying in the middle of the roadway.
Bystanders remained with the victim until emergency responders arrived on the scene. Hubler was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. She was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Gloucester Township Serious Crash Investigation Team is handling the ongoing investigation.
An investigation determined that the driver of a dark-colored vehicle was heading northbound on Black Horse Pike when they struck Hubler. The driver continued northbound without stopping. It has since been located by the police.
Black Horse Pike was closed for roughly three hours during the investigation.
