New Jersey Car Wrecks

Car crashes pose a serious threat in New Jersey, with recent statistics demonstrating the impact and frequency of these accidents. In 2022, approximately 180,000 auto collisions were reported throughout the Garden State, resulting in a wide range of different consequences for victims, which included property damage, serious injuries, and, unfortunately, fatalities. These numbers show a slight fall of about 2% compared to 2021, showing progress in correcting this problem.

Car crashes in New Jersey occur most often in urban areas; however, they also often take place in suburban areas. Approximately 45% of reported collisions in 2022 took place in densely populated areas like Jersey City, Paterson, and Newark, where congested roads and high traffic are common. About 30% of reported accidents occurred due to the actions of drivers who were distracted by their cell phones. Additionally, speeding contributed to about ¼ of accidents that same year, highlighting the importance of following road rules and regulations and maintaining safe speeds at all times.
