Islip, NY – Two Teens Killed, Three Hurt in Wreck on Southern State Pkwy

Islip, NY (August 2, 2024) – Two teenagers from Long Island lost their lives in a severe traffic accident that happened in Islip. Reports show the wreck occurred on the Southern State Parkway during the early morning hours of Thursday, August 1. Police responded to the scene of the accident to find a mangled Toyota Prius that had overturned near exit 43A on the shoulder of the roadway. The incident occurred at around 2:00 a.m., police said. Three others were reportedly injured in the accident. Paramedics helped those with injuries and transported them to the hospital for further treatment. Currently, the involved individuals have not been identified. Police in Islip continue to investigate.
