Negligent Drivers in New Jersey
If you were seriously injured in a New Jersey car accident caused by a negligent driver, you probably have questions about your rights. You deserve answers from a respected personal injury attorney who can offer valuable insights specific to your case.
Negligent drivers are the leading cause of New Jersey car accidents that end in personal injury. Whether it’s a driver who is texting, speeding, under the influence, or simply not obeying the law, their blatant apathy for the safety of others often leads to preventable collisions.
In fact, negligent driving is so common, the state even has detailed laws pertaining to the offense.
If it is decided that the driver who caused your injuries is guilty of unlawful or negligent conduct, known as negligence per se, then a jury only needs to determine if that negligence was the cause of your injuries and how much recovery is required to make you whole.
Legally speaking, making a victim whole means they have been fully compensated for their damages.
As an injured victim, you could be entitled to collect damages for your:
- Medical care
- Disabilities, restrictions, and permanent injuries
- Pain and suffering
- Lost income
- Vehicle repairs
- Spousal claim damages
