Manchester, NJ – Two Hurt in Accident on Route 547/South Hope Chapel Rd
Manchester, NJ (March 13, 2023) – Two people suffered injuries on Sunday when a vehicle went off the side of Route 547 and struck a guard rail and a tree, police in Manchester said.
The driver, identified as 19-year-old Yanna Emilcar, and her passenger, 26-year-old Safiany Emilcar, were both transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune to be evaluated and treated for serious injuries.
The incident was reported at approximately 2:38 p.m. Sunday, police reported. Preliminary investigations show a 2007 Toyota Camry was headed south on Route 547, also known as South Hope Chapel Road when it left the roadway and struck two traffic signs, a guard rail, and a large pine tree before stopping with the rear-end of the vehicle resting on the guardrail.
During the investigation, the road was closed for several hours. The investigation into the details of the accident remains ongoing at this time. Members of the Ridgeway and Manchester Volunteer Fire Departments, the Manchester Emergency Medical Services, Robert Wood Johnson paramedics, the Lakehurst Borough Police Department, Accurate Towing, and the Ocean County Road Department all responded to the scene.
