Manhattan, NY – Scooter Rider Killed in Wreck on E 79th St
Manhattan, NY (July 16, 2024) – A scooter rider lost their life in a crash with an SUV on the Upper East Side of Manhattan on Sunday night, July 14. The Volvo SUV was headed east on East 79th Street when it crashed with the scooter that was also headed east just before midnight. The scooter rider was pronounced deceased at New York Presbyterian Hospital. The driver of the SUV, age 26, was charged with driving without a license. Police believe he may have been speeding through a red light at the time of the collision. Local law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident.
