Manhattan, NY – Two Killed, Four Hurt in Multi-Car Crash on Audubon Ave in Washington Heights
Manhattan, NY (July 3, 2023) – Reports show that two teens tragically lost their lives, and four others were injured in a severe multi-vehicle accident that occurred in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. It happened on Monday morning, July 3rd, at the intersection of Audubon Avenue and 179th Street.
According to official reports provided by law enforcement, a Hyundai Elantra collided with a Jeep after each vehicle approached the junction. At least two other vehicles involved in the crash were thought to have been parked at the time of the incident.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following multiple 911 calls, and crews arrived a short time later.
Two teens, identified only as a 16-year-old and a 15-year-old, were transported to New York Presbyterian-Columbia Hospital. They were both pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. Two other teens of the same ages, 15 and 16, were taken to Harlem Hospital. They are presently listed in critical condition.
Both the driver of the Elantra and the Jeep were hospitalized. Their conditions are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Investigators with the NYPD are actively conducting a thorough inquiry to determine the events that led to the collision. No further information is available.
