Manhattan, NY - Woman Killed in Pedestrian Crash on E 10th St near Ave C

Manhattan, NY (February 7, 2024) - Police in Manhattan are currently investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that happened on February 5, Monday. At approximately 7:00 p.m., the incident occurred near the intersection of East 10th Street near Avenue C. Authorities report that a tow truck was headed south on Avenue C when it attempted to turn left, and headed east, onto East 10th Street. While trying to turn, it struck a woman, age 67. She was pronounced deceased on-site by responding medical professionals. The truck driver stayed on-scene and cooperated with police and other responders. The Collision Investigation Squad directed traffic away from the intersection and questioned the driver and nearby witnesses. At this time, the victim has not been identified. Police continue to investigate.
