Keyport, NJ – Pedestrian Killed in Traffic Crash on Rt 36 near Atlantic St

Keyport, NJ (August 22, 2023) – A fatal pedestrian crash happened in Keyport on Saturday morning, August 19. Sources say the accident took place at around 1:30 a.m. 

Several responders went to the scene, including Keyport police and EMS. They found the female victim on Route 36 near Atlantic Street. She was taken to Bayshore Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead, just after 2:15 a.m. 

Currently, she has not been identified pending the notification of her family, police said. The person who struck her, identified as an adult female, remained at the crash scene and cooperated with authorities. 

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office along with the Keyport Police Department and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), are currently investigating the incident.
