Newark, NJ – Accident SB on NJ TNPK near Airport
Newark, NJ (January 25, 2023) – On early Tuesday morning, January 24, 2023, a motor vehicle was turned over onto its side in an accident. The driver was on the southbound side of the New Jersey Turnpike. The accident occurred near the Newark International Airport, according to New Jersey Authorities.
The scene of the accident was visited by emergency responders.
This accident took place just north of Interchange 14 with Interstate 78 and U.S. Highway 1 & 9 in Newark, on the southbound lanes of the turnpike’s inner roadway. A few minutes after 8:00 a.m., 511NJ reported the incident.
The vehicle turned on its side has not been identified. The total number of vehicles involved in the wreck has not been disclosed. It is also unknown what the medical conditions of those involved in the accident were.
There has been no announcement updating the public as to what caused the wreck on the New Jersey Turnpike.
Due to the results of the accident, one left lane of the three southbound lanes was blocked. The blockages caused delays for other drivers on the turnpike for a period of time.
