New Jersey Pedestrian Collisions
Pedestrian crashes happen thousands of times per year in the United States. These accidents often end in injuries and even fatalities for the people involved. On average, over 5,000 pedestrians lose their lives yearly in auto accidents in the United States. In the state of New Jersey alone, thousands of pedestrian wrecks occur per year that cause injuries to hundreds of people and even end the lives of some victims. Most of the time, these collisions take place because one or more parties involved were acting negligently. Over half of the time, negligent drivers are at fault for causing pedestrian crashes in the US. Drivers who fail to yield the right of way often cause pedestrian accidents that cause pedestrians to sustain injuries that are severe and even debilitating.
Pedestrians who sustain serious injuries in collisions often have to spend a lot of time recovering either in the hospital or at home. This can result in time missed at work and with family, which can be depressing and cause a lot of anxiety and even depression in some cases. Those injured in pedestrian crashes often go through extremely difficult times following their wrecks. If you or someone you love have recently been hurt in a pedestrian accident, you should be able to determine how it happened, especially if you think it was caused by the negligent actions of another person. Statistics surrounding pedestrian crashes in the United States show that over half of them happen because of drivers who are acting negligently while behind the wheel. Distraction, intoxication, fatigue, and speeding often cause injurious and even fatal pedestrian accidents in the state of New Jersey and throughout the United States. If you think a negligent driver was to blame, working alongside an attorney is definitely in your best interest.
