Rensselaer Co., NY – Two Killed, Twelve Hurt in Wreck on NY 7
Rensselaer Co., NY (June 24, 2024) – Two people lost their lives, and twelve others suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle accident in Pittstown. Reports from local sources show the wreck happened around 1:22 p.m. on June 23.
Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to the scene of a multi-vehicle accident with injuries on New York Route 7 near the Tomhannock Reservoir. When they arrived at the scene, they found three vehicles with several people involved. Police say the wreck happened when a vehicle headed west on New York Route 7 was involved in a sideswiping crash with another vehicle before striking a third vehicle head-on. Two passengers inside one of the involved vehicles lost their lives at the crash scene. Twelve other passengers were taken to Albany Medical Center with injuries.
Police in Rensselaer continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
