Somers Point, NJ – Teen Cyclist Critical After Collision on Ocean Heights Ave

Somers Point, NJ (November 08, 2022) – A teen from Pleasantville was critically injured when a driver struck them on their bicycle on Saturday, November 5th.  

The crash took place at about 6:00 p.m. on a bike path on Ocean Heights Avenue in Somers Point.

The 14-year-old was transported by paramedics to Atlanticare Trauma Center. From there, they were med-flighted to Cooper Trauma Center.

The car was driven by 25-year-old Tia Coppin, a resident of Atlantic City. 

Police declined to release the cause of the incident but said speed was not a factor.
