Egg Harbor, NJ – Three Injured in Entrapment Accident on Mill Rd
Egg Harbor, NJ (November 07, 2022) – A seriously injured passenger was trapped for almost an hour following a car accident in Atlantic City on Tuesday, November 1st.
The crash happened at about 7:15 a.m. on Mill Road in Egg Harbor Township when a 2019 Audi A4 driven by a 17-year-old local boy was heading westbound. As the Audi pulled into the Tremont Avenue intersection a second vehicle proceeded into the intersection as well.
The Audi driver attempted to make an evasive maneuver and, in doing so, lost control of his vehicle. He left the paved portion of the roadway, slid across some nearby grass, and crashed into a tree in the 6200th block of Mill Road.
In addition to the driver, there were two other passengers inside the vehicle, both 17-year-olds from the township.
The driver and back-seat passenger were both injured during the impact and taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
The front-seat passenger was pinned inside the Audi for about 45 minutes until he was successfully extricated by Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Department. The teen sustained internal injuries and multiple leg fractures. He was transported to Cooper Medical Center in serious condition.
Traffic was detoured for about two hours while the collision was being investigated.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Passenger Injuries in New Jersey
It is not uncommon for the person at fault for an accident that left a passenger injured to be the driver of the vehicle they were riding in. For instance, the driver could be a relative, spouse, or colleague of the victim. The driver may also be a close friend or a neighbor who was simply helping out. Provided that the victim and the driver are not covered by the same auto insurance policy, the victim has a legitimate claim.
If you are hurt as a passenger in a car crash, you are eligible to seek compensation for your medical bills and other related losses just as an injured driver would be. This is true regardless of the cause of your collision, no matter if it was driver distraction, a vehicle malfunction, or a hazard in the roadway.
Bringing a personal injury claim against a friend or family member is going to be awkward, but passenger victims are entitled to seek recovery anytime their injuries were the result of another’s negligence. In most cases, the at-fault driver’s car insurance will cover the cost of the damages.
Our team works diligently to help victims hold those at fault accountable and collect the maximum amount of compensation for medical bills, lost income, and multiple other damages caused by accidents.
