South Brunswick, NJ (October 28, 2025) – A 32-year-old man from Keyport tragically lost his life on Monday morning, October 27, following a multi-vehicle crash on the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike near milepost 76.
According to the New Jersey State Police, the incident occurred around 4:01 a.m. after the man’s Nissan collided with a Toyota minivan, leaving his car disabled in the center lane. Moments later, a Kia SUV—recently involved in another collision—struck the Nissan. The driver then exited his vehicle and was standing in the left lane when a Toyota SUV hit him, resulting in fatal injuries.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and confirmed the man’s passing. Authorities later identified the victim as 32-year-old Albert R. Masonius of Keyport. The New Jersey State Police continue to investigate the sequence of events and contributing factors in this tragic crash.
