Somerset, NJ – Mario Heslop Killed in Auto Accident on Hamilton St near Hillcrest Ave
Somerset, NJ (June 21, 2023) – One driver lost his life, and another was sent to the hospital after a three-car accident that happened on Monday night in Somerset. Reports were made to area officials on Monday, June 19, at around 5:30 p.m.
Three vehicles were involved in a crash at the intersection of Hamilton Street and Hillcrest Avenue, sources said. Mario Heslop, 23, of New Brunswick, was rendered emergency aid by paramedics at the scene and transported to the hospital, where he later lost his life.
Preliminary reports found that Heslop was driving his Infiniti QS50S west in the left lane of Hamilton Street when he was involved in a head-on crash with another vehicle. That driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The second vehicle was also rear-ended by a third involved vehicle which was also headed west in the left lane of Hamilton Street. Police, traffic safety officers, and detectives with the Franklin Township Police Department, along with the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team.
