Car Accidents in New Jersey

Car accidents in New Jersey remain a serious concern, especially on well-traveled roads like Olden Avenue. Even collisions that occur at moderate speeds can leave victims facing injuries that require extensive treatment.
Neck injuries are especially common because of the sudden force that impacts the body during a crash. These injuries can range from mild whiplash to more serious spinal damage that impacts mobility and quality of life.
Victims may find it difficult to work, perform daily activities, or even sleep comfortably. Medical bills can add up quickly, especially if long-term physical therapy or specialized care is needed. For many families, the financial stress that follows an accident can be just as difficult as the physical recovery.
Accidents like this recent one occur for many different reasons. Understanding the common causes helps highlight the importance of safe driving and accountability on the road.
- Distracted driving – Many crashes happen because drivers take their attention away from the road to use a phone, adjust the radio, or eat while driving. Even a brief distraction of a few seconds can result in a serious collision.
- Speeding – Driving above the posted speed limit reduces the amount of time drivers have to react to sudden changes, such as a car braking or a pedestrian entering the roadway. High speeds also make the impact of a crash much more severe.
- Failure to yield – Ignoring traffic lights, stop signs, or failing to yield at intersections like Olden Avenue often results in side-impact crashes that cause severe injuries.
- Driving under the influence – Alcohol and drugs impair reaction time, coordination, and judgment. Intoxicated drivers continue to be a leading cause of serious and sometimes fatal car accidents across New Jersey.
When someone suffers injuries in a car accident, the aftermath can feel overwhelming. Victims often face mounting medical expenses, lost wages from time away from work, and ongoing emotional distress. In cases involving serious injuries like neck trauma, victims may also require long-term therapy and rehabilitation.
Working with an experienced car accident lawyer gives victims the support and guidance they need. A lawyer can investigate the accident, gather evidence, handle negotiations with insurance companies, and fight for compensation that covers medical costs, lost income, and pain and suffering.
