Authorities have identified the 13-year-old boy who died following a tractor accident in Franklin Township as Nino Constantino, according to a verified GoFundMe created for the family.
The incident occurred on Monday evening, July 6, when emergency responders found the teen pinned beneath an overturned tractor. First responders removed the tractor and performed CPR before the boy was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. An adult male who was also involved was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
Investigators believe the teen was riding on the tractor with the adult when it overturned during work being performed on the property.
The Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office has joined the investigation, and officials have indicated that criminal charges remain a possibility as the investigation continues.
Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
After a fatal farm equipment accident in New Jersey, investigators typically conduct a detailed review to determine how the incident occurred and whether any safety, operational, or legal factors contributed to the outcome.
Because these cases often involve specialized machinery and unique working conditions, reaching conclusions may require a careful examination of multiple sources of information and can take time to complete.
As the investigation moves forward, officials may examine the condition of the equipment, photographs from the scene, physical evidence, witness statements, and official investigative reports.
Throughout Gloucester County and surrounding communities, investigators may also review maintenance records, the location where the accident occurred, and any available documentation regarding how the equipment was being used.
When necessary, specialists may be consulted to evaluate mechanical issues, operating procedures, or other factors that could have played a role. Together, these findings help develop a clearer picture of the events leading up to the incident.
Beyond determining the cause of the accident, the documentation collected during the investigation may also become important for insurance reviews or potential civil claims.
Emergency response records, medical documentation, and other reports may help establish the impact of the incident. In cases involving a fatality, families may also need to preserve records related to funeral expenses, financial losses, and other damages that could become relevant as claims are evaluated.
Keeping these documents organized can help ensure important information is available throughout the process.
As the legal and insurance reviews continue, questions about responsibility, available coverage, and potential compensation may arise.
A wrongful death lawyer can help preserve supporting evidence, review investigative findings, and communicate with insurance companies when appropriate.
Legal guidance may also clarify how liability determinations could affect a claim, what documentation may be needed, and what types of compensation could potentially be available if supported by the facts and applicable law.
