Woodbridge Twp., NJ – Pedestrian Hit by Car on Rte 1 Ramp, Injuries

Woodbridge Township, NJ (November 17, 2025) – A man went to the hospital on Sunday, November 16, after a car struck him while he crossed a highway ramp in Middlesex County. Police responded at about 2:30 a.m. to the ramp from Route 1 north to Saint Georges Avenue southbound in Woodbridge Township.

Officers arrived and found the pedestrian injured in the roadway. They also located the driver at the scene. Emergency crews transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital. Doctors listed him in stable condition later that morning.

Police continued to gather details at the crash site and interviewed the driver about the moments before the collision. No other vehicles were involved. The crash happened in low-light conditions, and officers examined the area to determine what caused the driver and pedestrian to meet in the same space at the same time.

The New Jersey State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

We wish the injured man a fast and full recovery.

Pedestrian Accidents in New JerseyPedestrian Injured After Being Hit by Car on Rte 1 Ramp

Pedestrian accidents in New Jersey often cause serious injuries, especially when they happen on or near highway ramps. Crashes like the recent one show how quickly an everyday situation can turn dangerous.

Many factors contribute to pedestrian crashes in busy parts of New Jersey. Drivers may focus on merging lanes, watching nearby cars, or adjusting speed for the curve of a ramp. Even a small mistake can lead to severe injuries.

Pedestrians who survive crashes often face challenges during recovery. Medical bills, therapy appointments, and time away from work can place major strain on injured people and their families. When a driver strikes someone, the injured person may have the right to seek compensation through a legal claim. These claims may cover medical treatment, lost income, and the pain caused by the crash.

Understanding how personal injury cases work can help victims protect their rights. A pedestrian accident attorney can investigate the crash, speak with witnesses, review police reports, and build a strong case. Legal guidance also helps injured pedestrians deal with insurance companies, which often try to limit what they pay.

Many common issues appear after a pedestrian crash, including:

  • Ongoing medical appointments and unexpected treatment costs
  • Lost wages from missing work during recovery
  • Emotional stress caused by the trauma of the accident
  • Difficulty managing insurance claims and paperwork

Pedestrians deserve safe access to local roads, and drivers must watch carefully for anyone on foot. When a crash happens, victims should seek help as soon as possible so they do not face the aftermath alone.
