Theresa, NY (June 25, 2026) – Three people were injured on Tuesday afternoon, June 23, after a collision on State Route 37 involving two passenger cars near a Sunoco gas station in Theresa. The crash followed a situation where one driver pulled into traffic from the business driveway and entered the path of an oncoming car.

A 76-year-old woman from Marcellus pulled out from the Sunoco gas station and moved into the path of a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old man from Hammond. The man was unable to stop in time and struck the driver’s side of the woman's car.

The woman was taken to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown. Two passengers in the teenager's vehicle, one of whom is a 56-year-old man, and the other one a 29-year-old man, both from Hammond, were also taken to hospital. The younger passenger was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, while the older passenger was taken to SMC.
