Driver, Passenger Hurt in SUV Rollover on GSP in Holmdel, NJ

July 14, 2026

Holmdel, NJ (July 14, 2026) – A driver and passenger were hurt on Sunday morning, July 12, after their SUV rolled over on the Garden State Parkway.

The wreck happened around 6:48 a.m. on the southbound exit ramp near mile marker 114, according to New Jersey State Police. Investigators say the Range Rover lost directional control while merging onto County Road 52, struck a guardrail, hit a pole, and flipped.

Emergency units helped both people out of the vehicle. They suffered minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The investigation into the rollover is still active.

We wish both drivers a full and speedy recovery.

What Happens to Medical Costs After a Passenger Is Injured in a Crash in Holmdel, NJ?

Driver, Passenger Hurt in SUV Rollover on GSP

A passenger's medical costs after a crash in New Jersey are typically covered first through Personal Injury Protection (PIP), either from the vehicle they were riding in or their own auto policy if they have one, regardless of who caused the rollover.

Passengers can face many injuries in a rollover since they have less ability to brace compared to the driver. Spinal compression, rib fractures, and concussions can all result from the vehicle's motion, and some of these injuries don't show clear symptoms until a day or two afterward, which makes early documentation so important.

If a passenger doesn't carry their own auto policy, PIP coverage from the vehicle involved usually applies, and coverage can extend to lost wages and essential services if the injuries limit daily activities.

Once PIP limits are reached, a car accident lawyer can help passengers determine whether the at-fault driver's liability coverage or another policy can cover the remaining costs, since passengers aren't bound by the same fault restrictions a driver might face.

At Metro Law, we can help passengers sort out which policies may apply to them and what steps to take to protect their rights under New Jersey law.
