Astoria, NY – 7-Year-Old Girl Killed in Pedestrian Collision at 46th St & Newton Rd

Astoria, NY (February 17, 2023) – a 7-year-old girl lost her life after being hit by a vehicle in Queens on Friday night. The crash occurred at 46th Street and Newton Road in Astoria at around 6:00 p.m. on February 17. 

Authorities say a woman, age 46, was driving a white 2021 Ford Explorer headed east on Newton Road when she struck the 7-year-old girl. At the time of the incident, the driver was traveling through the intersection. 

The child was transported to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. Authorities say the mother and child live near the intersection. 

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police. No one involved has been identified at this time.
