Centereach, NY – Woman Loses Life in Wreck on Middle Cty Rd
Centereach, NY (May 7, 2024) – A teenage driver was arrested on Saturday night, May 4, after attempting to leave the scene of a fatal accident in Long Island. The teen was operating a stolen 2008 Land Rover, according to police, when he rear-ended the woman in Centereach on Middle County Road. Reports show the incident occurred at around 9:00 p.m. The woman, age 73, and a male passenger, age 50, were both transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Police report the teen driver sustained no injuries, however; They attempted to run from the scene but were stopped by an off-duty officer. Police continue to investigate.
