Little Valley, NY (June 24, 2026) – Eight people, including five children, were hurt Tuesday afternoon, June 23, in a head-on collision on Route 353 South in the Town of Little Valley.
The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office said the wreck happened just before 2 p.m. near the area between Route 242 and Baker Road, which prompted a temporary closure of that stretch of road.
According to officials, the crash occurred after a horse crossed the road. The horse’s rider was thrown before the horse struck the vehicle.
The five children were taken to Golisano Children’s Hospital, while the two adults and the horse’s rider were taken to ECMC. Their conditions were not known as of this report.
Authorities continue to investigate this crash.
