Garfield, NY – Pedestrian Killed in Hit & Run Accident on Outwater Ln
Garfield, NY (January 6, 2023) – A fatal hit-and-run accident happened in Garfield on the evening of January 4. Just before 9:00 p.m., crews were sent to the scene of the accident to render aid and investigate.
Authorities arrived at the scene, located on Outwater Lane, to render aid to those involved. Upon their arrival, they found a pedestrian lying in the roadway. They were struck at approximately 8:50 p.m. by a vehicle that then fled the scene without stopping.
No description of the vehicle or driver was made available. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated the victim’s name has been withheld pending the notification of family members.
Police detectives with the Garfield Police Department are working to assist the prosecutor’s office in the official investigation.
