Fatal Car Accidents in New Jersey
Deadly car accidents happen far too often on New Jersey roadways, leaving families to cope with unimaginable grief and financial burdens. Each year, hundreds of people lose their lives in crashes across the state, with thousands more suffering injuries. Many of these collisions involve speeding, driver distraction, impaired driving, or other preventable causes.
Several key factors can contribute to serious car crashes, including:
- Speeding – Excessive speed reduces reaction time and increases the force of impact, often leading to more severe injuries or fatalities.
- Distracted Driving – Using a phone, adjusting the radio, or engaging in other distractions while driving can lead to devastating accidents in just seconds.
- Impaired Driving – Alcohol and drugs impair a driver’s judgment, reaction time, and coordination, making crashes more likely and more dangerous.
- Failure to Yield – Running red lights, ignoring stop signs, and failing to give the right-of-way often result in serious collisions.
- Adverse Road Conditions – Wet or icy roads, low visibility, and poor lighting increase the risk of accidents, particularly on highways.
