Gloucester Co, NJ – Man Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Hurffville-Cross Keys Rd

Gloucester Co, NJ (November 12, 2024) – A fatal pedestrian crash occurred on the evening of November 11, resulting in the death of an individual in Washington Township. The incident, reported by the Gloucester County Police Department, took place at approximately 8:25 p.m. on Hurffville-Cross Keys Road, near Regulus Drive, directly in front of Jefferson Hospital.

According to the Gloucester County Police Department, a preliminary investigation found that a black Chevrolet Silverado, traveling southbound on Hurffville-Cross Keys Road, struck a pedestrian who was walking in the southbound lane. The pedestrian, later identified as George H. West by a medical ID band he was wearing, sustained severe injuries from the impact.

Emergency responders, including local paramedics and police, quickly arrived at the scene. Despite attempts to stabilize Mr. West, he was transported by ambulance to Jefferson Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have confirmed that no other individuals were injured in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
