Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ – Luis Ramirez-Cano Killed, Several Injured in Crash on I-80 W near milepost 43.8
Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ (February 6, 2023) – An early morning traffic accident in Parsippany-Troy Hills took the life of one man, identified as Luis Ramirez-Cano, 29. Several others sustained injuries, sources said.
The two-car accident took place at approximately 2:41 a.m. on February 5. Reports indicate the wreck occurred on Interstate 80 near milepost 43.8. New Jersey State Police responded to the scene along with fire crews and paramedics.
A preliminary investigation revealed a Chevy Corvette, driven by Ramirez-Cano, was headed north on I-287 when it entered I-80 from a westbound ramp. The Corvette was then struck by a Lexus RX3, ejecting Ramirez-Cano from the vehicle. He sustained fatal injuries in the wreck.
The victim, identified as a Bogota resident, was pronounced deceased on-site. A passenger present in the Corvette at the time of the crash was transported to Morristown Medical Center in critical condition, according to information from state police.
The driver of the Lexus sustained minor injuries in the accident, as well as a passenger present in the Lexus at the time. The passenger was transported to Saint Clare’s Hospital in Denville with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation into the details of the crash continues.
