Gloucester Township, NJ (January 1, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a serious multi-vehicle collision early Thursday, January 1, on State Highway 42 in Gloucester Township.
The crash happened just after midnight on New Year’s Day along the southbound lanes of the highway. Fire companies and rescue units were dispatched for a reported rescue assignment involving several vehicles.
According to information shared by a local fire company, responders arrived to find a large crash scene spanning both sides of the roadway. At least five vehicles were involved in the collision. One vehicle had overturned, trapping occupants inside.
