Howell, NJ – Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Rt 9 near Strickland Rd

Howell, NJ (September 12, 2023) – A pedestrian lost his life after he was hit by a car in Howell on a roadway in Howell on the evening of September 10. Responders went to the crash site promptly to render aid after receiving reports concerning the incident on Route 9. 

Emergency medical technicians and police were dispatched to the area on Route 9 near Strickland Road at around 7:51 p.m. A male Howell resident was attempting to cross the roadway from west to east when he was hit by a vehicle. 

Paramedics transported the injured victim to CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township, where he lost his life a short time later. The driver of the striking vehicle was not injured, reports showed.  

Police in Howell continue to investigate the details of the collision.
