Howell, NJ – Toddler Killed in Collision on Rt 34 near Rt 33

Howell, NJ (January 15, 2024) – A 3-year-old girl lost her life after a three-car crash that happened in Howell.

Reports from authorities show the wreck occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, January 13. Responders were dispatched to the crash scene located on Route 34 north of Route 33. According to reports, a Jeep Grand Cherokee was headed north on Route 34 occupied by a female driver and two toddlers. Police say the Jeep was involved in a crash with two other vehicles. Authorities who arrived at the scene afterward found a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck and a 2021 Ford Bronco along with the Jeep. All three drivers were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Sadly, a 3-year-old girl who was present in the Jeep was pronounced deceased at the crash scene. The other toddler in the Jeep was transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. At this time, authorities in Howell are still investigating the circumstances of the collision. Route 34 was closed in both directions for more than five hours while crews worked to clear the roadway and investigate.
