Irvington, NJ – Mark Terpak, 60, Killed in Garden State Pkwy Crash near milepost 144.2

Irvington, NJ (November 28, 2022) – A car accident happened near Irvington on the Garden State Parkway that took the life of one person. A man from Little Falls was killed early Saturday, November 26, when he was struck by a vehicle after exiting his own. 

Authorities identified the deceased victim as 60-year-old Mark Terpak. He was involved in a fatal crash at around 1:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the Parkway near milepost 144.2. 

A preliminary report indicates Terpak was involved in a single-vehicle collision that disabled his vehicle in the center lane of the road. He left his vehicle and was immediately struck by another car, according to information from officials. 

All southbound lanes of the parkway were closed after the incident for approximately four hours on Saturday morning. The incident remains under investigation by local police at this time.
