New Jersey Pedestrian Crashes
Pedestrian accidents occur in New Jersey at an alarming rate. Truthfully, pedestrian safety has become a serious issue in the Garden State, to such a degree that the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority has created a program called Street Smart in order to help people learn more about pedestrian safety and awareness.
It was reported by the NJTPA that over 175 pedestrians lost their lives in auto accidents throughout the state in one year’s time. This doesn’t account for the several hundred pedestrians who suffered injuries due to the actions of negligent drivers.
Pedestrians travel without protection 100% of the time. This means that every time they go for a walk, run, jog, or bike ride, they run the risk of sustaining serious, catastrophic, or even fatal injuries if they become involved in a collision with a vehicle. While things like jaywalking can definitely lead to accidents, the majority of pedestrian collisions are caused by the actions of negligent drivers who fail to yield the right-of-way.
If you or a beloved member of your family has been seriously hurt in a pedestrian crash, you are legally entitled to bring legal action against the person, persons, or entity responsible for your injuries. You should never have to pay for sustaining injuries due to the careless, reckless, or negligent actions of another person, which is why, here at Metro Law, our professional duty is to help injured crash victims who have been hurt by driver negligence. We have worked for decades to provide those victimized by negligent drivers with the financial compensation they need and deserve, as well as the justice they may be seeking.
