New Jersey Motorcycle Crashes
It is important for motorcyclists to know that the New Jersey no-fault laws do not apply to them. This is because motorcyclists are not defined as motor vehicle operators. Unfortunately, bikers who are hurt in car crashes are not entitled to medical and lost income benefits because of this.
Motorcyclists are legally required to have insurance if they are hurt in a traffic accident. The insurance policy held by a motorcyclist should be able to cover everyone who sustains injuries in an accident up to $25,000. The policy minimum is $50,000 if someone involved is killed and $100,000 if two or more deaths happen due to a single accident.
Additionally, motorcyclists can obtain supplemental UM/UIM insurance plans. These offer up to $250,000 per person per accident and $500,000 if two or more individuals are hurt. Due to these demands, people who are hurt during motorcycle accidents may be eligible to collect financial compensation from the insurance company.
New Jersey motorcycle accident lawyers can help you determine if you qualify for financial compensation after you or a loved one of yours has been injured in a motorcycle crash.
More often than not, a motorcyclist will suffer a severe injury in a traffic accident or even lose their life. Oftentimes, motorcyclists are left with severe head trauma, broken bones, spinal cord injuries, and other severe injuries that require extensive and expensive medical care. These accidents are usually preventable and caused by the actions of negligent drivers. Life-changing consequences often result from them. However, sometimes, victims and their families may legally qualify for compensation that can help them pay for the costs related to the accident.
If you have lost a loved one in a motorcycle crash, you should contact a motorcycle crash attorney in Lacey, who can help you recover. An attorney will help you preserve your rights so you can collect the maximum compensation available for the losses and damages you face.
