Queens, NY – Pedestrian Killed in Collision on Astoria Blvd near Steinway St

Queens, NY (October 23, 2023) – A pedestrian suffered fatal injuries in a traffic collision in Queens in the early morning hours of October 23. At approximately 4:00 a.m., on Tuesday, responders were quickly dispatched to the scene of the wreck on Astoria Boulevard. 

Reports from authorities show the crash happened on Astoria Boulevard near Steinway Street. A victim was struck by a vehicle under circumstances that remain unclear at this time. 

The driver reportedly left the scene on foot and is currently being sought by police officers. The victim was transported to Elmhurst Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. 

The vehicle that struck the pedestrian was identified as a BMW. it was towed from the scene at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. 

Authorities continue to investigate.
